Goals and Objectives

     The Corporation is to assemble a group of interested volunteers to assist with ongoing and future activities at Smith Mountain Lake State Park; to present educational programs to all ages on topics covering plants, animals and the environment; to promote responsibility regarding stewardship and conservation; to seek alternative sources of financial support through fund raising, in-kind contributions, donations of goods and services, sales revenue and dues; to generate support from local organizations, groups and individuals, for specific planned state park projects to benefit the community at large; promote Smith Mountain Lake State Park, and important issues; and to provide a means of communication between the local community and Smith Mountain Lake State Park staff.
